"It's kind of anti-climactic": Davante Adams picks one aspect of his Jets debut loss that 's**ks'
Davante Adams made his debut with the New York Jets on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While he reuinted back with his old pal and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the night was spoiled by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After jumping ahead of the Steelers early with a 15-6 lead midway through the second quarter, the Steelers scored 31 unanswered points to defeat the Jets 37-15. This almost spoilt Adams' debut with the Jets.
Appearing on the Up & Adams Show with host Kay Adams, Davante spoke about his debut and viewed it as "anti-climatic."
Davante said:
"It was real cool in the moment, looking back on it, it's kind of anti-climactic. We went out there and got beat on Sunday Night Football. Obviously, that's not how we draw it up, or we drew it up, but it was one."
Adams then went on to say that it was still a good night because he played for the first time in a few weeks after his hamstring injury. He also got to play with Rodgers again for the first time since the 2021 season.
"It's a really cool video, so I love the video, but it sucks that I can't repost it now because we took the L so we got to rally and come back. But it was, it was a good night, either way, just to, you know, get my feet wet again, get back out there with Aaron," he added.
Davante Adams raves about Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson
During his appearance on Up & Adams, Davante spoke about many topics. He opened up about how he is a vocal leader and he was asked if the Jets should consider switching up their play calling. Thats when he raved about playing alongside Garrett Wilson.
Adams said that Wilson is light years ahead of where he was at in his career in year three.
Davante said:
"He's a special player and I love having the opportunity to play with him and helping him grow. Him being such a young player, being where he's at now, he's light years ahead of where I was at that point in my career.
"So sky's the limit for him, I just want to continue to build. Me him, Mike, Lazard, we have a really good room."
In two plus seasons, Wilson has recorded 224 receptions for 2,605 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns.
With the arrival of Davante Adams in New York, the Jets could have one of the best WR duos in the NFL and best wide receiver corps in the league.
