It's now or never for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, claims Bart Scott
It is time for Dak Prescott to show up, according to former NFL player Bart Scott. With Dallas having already punched their ticket to the playoffs with a 10-4 record thanks to the Washington Commanders losing to the New York Giants, they can focus on the postseason.
Still, with three games to go in the regular season, there's a chance to tune up before the real stuff starts. However, most don't truly believe in the Cowboys because of Prescott's increased turnovers.
What are the Cowboys' Super Bowl odds?
Speaking on ESPN's First Take, Scott said the time has come for Dak to become the $40 million quarterback and lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl and he feels that this is perhaps the best time to do it.
Scott said:
"If not now then when for the Dallas Cowboys. You mean to tell me the Dallas Cowboys and listen at this point Dak Prescott isn't a baby anymore. Like he's got paid the bag and he's trying to justify the bag. You talked about his turnover issues, 11 turnovers have been in the minus territory which is put that defense in a tough position. I don't care about you losing a cornerback everybody's hurt."
Scott added:
"You're supposed to be a force multiplier once you get $40 million. You mean to tell me that this is his best chance he has to go through Brock Purdy. You got to go through Kirk Cousins. Maybe Geno Smith, Tayler Heinicke, Jarred Goff. The time is now. You don't have that badman playing at a high level, but you don't have that old Tom Brady. Like, tell me who's supposed to be the best quarterback in this league."
Can Prescott lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl?
The answer, of course, is that he can. But will he? Prescott has had many detractors throughout his NFL career, and it appears for many that he is the sole reason why Dallas will not win a Super Bowl anytime soon.
With a decent supporting cast on offense and what we thought was a stellar defense that has now slipped back into the pecking order due to injuries, Dallas aren't the team they once were.
That doesn't mean they can't go on a run. They are in the playoffs and once they are there, anything can happen and for Scott, Dak and the Cowboys need to take advantage and now.
