"Jacksonville is just as loud as Arrowhead with your little 42,000 fans and a swimming pool?" - Shannon Sharpe roasts Trevor Lawrence and Jaguars

Shannon Sharpe had some advice for Trevor Lawrence as the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback looked forward to their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. After their amazing comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Jaguars are now scheduled to go to the Kansas City Chiefs to play in the Divisional Round.

It marks a huge step up from what they have faced so far, as the Chiefs have arguably been the best team in the NFL this season, with Patrick Mahomes the MVP favorite. Furthermore, they will be moving away from home after playing their last game in Jacksonville, since they are the lower-ranked team in the matchup.

When asked about the nature of the challenge, Trevor Lawrence said that he does not believe there is much to worry about when traveling to Kansas City since they have it loud in Jacksonville as well. Shannon Sharpe was quick to disabuse him of that notion.

The former Denver Broncos legend regularly played against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead during their divisional matchups and believes it to be one of the most intimidating and hostile environments for an opposing player. He hilariously corrected Trevor Lawrence by saying:

“Ya’ll think Jacksonville is just as loud as Arrowhead with your little 42,000 fans and a swimming pool?! Man, ya’ll better stop it.”
Trevor Lawrence on KC crowd: “I can’t imagine it will be much louder” than JAX:

“Ya’ll think Jacksonville is just as loud as Arrowhead with your little 42,000 fans and a swimming pool?! Man, ya’ll better stop it.” 😂

Trevor Lawrence better listen to Shannon Sharpe about Arrowhead

While Trevor Lawrence might have been trying to downplay the nature of Arrowhead publicly, he would be remiss not to prepare for it privately. As Shannon Sharpe alluded to in the segment above, it is the loudest stadium in the world, having recorded 142.2 decibels in 2014.

They took over that recognition from the Seattle Seahawks, who previously held that record. They had achieved that mark in 2013 against the San Francisco 49ers, having reached 136.6 decibels.

Outside of the NFL, the world record for the loudest stadium was once held by Galatasaray, a soccer club in Turkey. It is known to be one of the most intimidating places to visit in the Europe, with the likes of Anfield in Liverpool, England, and Celtic Park in Scotland also having a fearsome reputation. In South American soccer, Boca Juniors and River Plate fans are known to create a hostile atmosphere when they play each other.

So, while Trevor Lawrence's advocacy on behalf of Jacksonville fans is nice, they cannot lay a patch on some of the other arenas mentioned above. Unluckily for him, as Shannon Sharpe can testify, he is going to be the loudest of them all this coming weekend.
