Jahmyr Gibbs highlights silver lining after Bills 48-42 Week 15 defeat
Jahmyr Gibbs' Detroit Lions ended their 11-game winning streak after losing 48-42 to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15. During Thursday's episode of the "Kay and Adams Show," the running back opened up about his feelings regarding the tough loss. He started off by saying that somewhere in the back of his mind, he wanted to lose.
"Wanted that hunger back. I didn't want to get too complacent. You know, with winning and stuff. So that's what it feels like to get punished real quick," Gibbs told Adams.
The Lions have three more games to go. Although they have clinched a playoff berth, it's still not sure whether it will be the NFC seed number one, or a wild card entry. In the NFC North, they have the same win-loss record as the Minnesota Vikings but have a slightly higher PF score. The final three games will determine the final NFC playoff picture.
Jahmyr Gibbs reveals he did not want to end up in a North team
Jahmyr Gibbs does not want to end up in a north team because of cold weather. However, the opposite happened when the Lions, an NFC North team, picked him 12th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
"Like when I was in the draft process, I said I just didn't want to go to you go go to a team up north," Gibbs said.
He said it was possible that if he hadn't been picked by the Lions, he might have ended up with the Dallas Cowboys. While the Cowboys and Lions both had a great 2023 season, 2024 turned out to be opposites.
The Lions are at 12-2, while the Cowboys are at 6-8, with their QB, Dak Prescott out for the entire season.
In the upcoming weeks, the Lions will face the divisional rivals the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings as well as the reigning NFC champions, the San Francisco 49ers.
Can Jahmyr Gibbs help the team secure the NFC #1 seed as well as lead them to the Super Bowl?
