Jakobi Meyers fantasy outlook: Should you draft Raiders WR in 2024?

Jakobi Meyers was a pleasant surprise for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023, becoming a solid WR2 for the team. Playing behind a receiver like Davante Adams might have looked difficult on paper, but Meyers found his place in the Raiders' scheme, although he could not step up his game at the most critical moments.

Should you draft Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers in 2024?

The advantage of having a player like Meyers on your fantasy team is knowing what you're getting from him. He's not the most spectacular player, but he can be solid as a WR4/5.

Remember that the Raiders will likely have a quarterback competition between Gardner Mindshew and Aiden O'Connell, who connected with Meyers last season. In addition, the Raiders brought rookie TE Brock Bowers in to compete for targets with Meyers. These factors make the situation more complex for the former New England Patriots wideout.

Jakobi Meyers 2024 fantasy outlook, ADP and 2023 stats

Meyers put up his best offensive fantasy league numbers last year. He went into the red zone eight times on a 21% target share. He averaged 11.4 points per game among WRs last season, getting the 25th spot. His ADP ranks him as the WR51 and 115th overall for the 2024 fantasy football season. He can be a late-round draft target as you look for WR4/5 or a desperate WR3.

He became a decent No. 2 receiver for the Raiders last fall, catching 71 passes for 807 receiving yards. He ranked 28th among WRs with 106 targets, a number that might drop with Bowers on the field.

Some additional stats to consider are that Las Vegas ran the ball more under Antonio Pierce than with Josh McDaniels (61.2% to 57.3%). Meyers also went from 8.1 targets with McDaniels to 5.4 with Pierce.

Is Jakobi Meyers a good pick in fantasy football this year?

Even after his notable first season with the Raiders, Meyers shouldn't be expected to have a similar performance this season. He might be a good option for the bench of most fantasy managers, as his workload is expected to be lighter compared to last season. Davante Adams, Aaron Jones and Brock Bowers could all be above Meyers in the pecking order. This means his numbers are likely to decline.

Where should you draft Jakobi Meyers this year?

According to his 2024 ADP, Meyers is the WR51 and 115th overall player in fantasy football. He won't make starting lineups by Week 1, but he is an excellent bench option. Our fantasy analyzer tool recommends drafting him over other WR2s like Curtis Samuel of the Bills or Tyler Lockett of the Seahawks.

The Raiders have renewed hopes under Antonio Pierce, and if they keep Meyers in the mix this season, they can have a dangerous offense.
