Jakobi Meyers Raiders contract: Did Las Vegas get a steal of a deal with ex-Patriots WR?
The top wide receiver is off the open market as former New England Patriots wideout Jakobi Meyers inked a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Meyers signed a three-year deal worth $33 million with $21 million guaranteed. He will be getting paid $11 million per season, which is about the average for a wide receiver. Many thought that Meyers would get a deal worth $15+ million per season, so the Raiders got a good deal.
The wideout was regarded as the number one wide receiver to hit the open market and was the first to be signed in free agency.
He's coming off two good seasons. In 2022, set a career-high in receiving touchdowns with six, while catching 67 passes for 804 yards while missing three games. In 2021, he set career-highs in receptions (83) and yards (866) with two touchdowns.
He'll join the Las Vegas offense that features All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs, All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, All-Pro tight end Darren Waller, and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.
Yesterday, the team inked Jimmy Garoppolo to a three-year deal to replace Derek Carr.
