Jalen Hurts confirms engagement to longtime girlfriend Bry Burrows: "I knew a long time ago"

Quarterback Jalen Hurts announced that he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Bry Burrows. Hurts and Burrows confirmed the news to Essence magazine and said he proposed before the 2024 NFL season started.

Essence shared a photo of the couple after the engagement, which appeared to have taken place in a tropical location. Lit candles and red rose petals surrounded the place.

Hurts told Essence that he had known Burrows was "the one" for a long time.

“I knew a long time ago,” he said. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”

Bry Burrows sparked engagement rumors last week when she was seen in Sao Paulo, Brazil, cheering for Jalen Hurts, wearing an engagement ring.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback walked up to where Burrows was sitting in the stands, and when she went to hug him, the engagement ring was noticeable.

Burrows was on hand at Corinthians Arena to watch Hurts and the Eagles get the Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers. The couple didn't address the rumors of a possible engagement until their announcement this week.

Hurts met Burrows while both were students at the University of Alabama. The couple was on again, off again for a few years until they confirmed their relationship in early 2023. They made their red carpet debut at the Time 100 Next Gala in New York City in Oct. 2023.

Like the Eagles quarterback, Bry Burrows graduated from Alabama with a Bachelor's Degree and completed her MBA from the Manderson School of Business.

According to Burrows' LinkedIn page, she works as an Artificial Intelligence Partner with IBM, a position she has held since 2022.
