Jason Kelce claims he wasn't drunk during 'electric' dance performance at Eagles MNF clash
Jason Kelce spent 13 years pouring his heart and soul for the Philadelphia Eagles on the field. After his retirement, things haven’t changed, as the former center’s dance steps at the Eagles’ tailgate went viral. However, Kelce surprised the fans and his brother Travis by confessing not being drunk for those moves.
The Philadelphia Eagles faced off against the Atlanta Falcons in their Week 2 fixture. The Eagles eventually lost a nail-biting game at home, 22-21. However, the Eagles fans rejoiced a ton before the game even started. The 36-year-old wrapped up in an all-green tracksuit lit the stage on fire with his dance moves.
Jason Kelce’s moves went viral and on Wednesday, his younger brother Travis Kelce on their podcast complimented the event.
“Just like any homecoming, it was about the pregame,” said Travis. “And boy, oh boy, did you not disappoint. And by the way, that Philly did not disappoint because you weren't the only one there.”
Jason Kelce tried pointing out to his brother that he did not remember exactly where he distributed the beers to the Philly fans. Travis chuckled, suggesting it was expected since he must’ve been drunk. The former Eagles man then dropped a confession.
“Do you know how hard it was to throw garage beers?” said Jason. “I threw probably 100 beers. I'm not exaggerating from a pickup. I didn't drink one.” [48:02 onwards]
Later in the podcast, Travis Kelce highlighted his admiration for his brother’s dance moves. The three-time Super Bowl winner wanted to go on record stating he isn’t a dancer of Jason’s caliber.
“Everyone thinks I'm the dancer,” said Travis. “Dude, you are the fucking most electric dancer I've ever met in my life. You can put a smile on anybody's face. It is so good.” [52:24]
Brothers are on a different trajectory in their careers for the first time in more than a decade. However, they are rooting for each other to find success in their ventures, without a clash on the field.
Jason Kelce regrets not being able to play with Saquon Barkley
The Eagles made a tremendous trade earlier this offseason by bringing in the speedy running back Saquon Barkley. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Jason Kelce highlighted his frustration at the Eagles GM for not bringing such a player while he was there.
"I tell Howie (Roseman) all the time, 'Why did you wait until I'm retired to add a piece like this?' The last time I played with a running back probably this talented was LeSean McCoy,” said Kelce.
Kelce will be looking forward to the Eagles and Barkley getting back into the win column. His former team will be on the road to face the New Orleans Saints on September 22.
