Jason Kelce doubted "anomaly" Simone Biles before gymnast's Paris Olympics performance

Jason Kelce was a little doubtful of Simone Biles' ability to bring home another Olympic gold, given that she was among the oldest gymnasts in the event. Of course, the decorated athlete proved the retired Philadelphia Eagles icon wrong by winning three gold medals and one silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Speaking on his "New Heights" podcast on Thursday, Kelce had said:

“We watched like every [Team USA gymnastics] girl go and do the floor routine and Simone Biles was the last person and I’m like, you know she’s getting older. We’ll see how she looks." (Time stamp: 27:30)

After her performance, Travis Kelce called Biles an anomaly, and Jason Kelce was quick to agree:

"She is the anomaly because she jumped higher than everybody and it wasn’t even close. Like, you watch all these people do the floor routine, then it’s Simone’s at the end and within the first three seconds you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s different.' She just jumped five feet higher than everybody else that has done this." (Time stamp: 27:58)

Travis Kelce, of course, was full of praise for the gymnast. He spoke about her "feel-good" story, even referring to her time off to regain confidence and get back into competing.

"It’s the best, man," he said. "So happy for her. And America is so proud of her, man." (Time stamp: 28:28)

Jonathan Owens was over the moon after Simone Biles' performance at the Olympics

Biles' husband, Jonathan Owens, took some time away from the NFL to cheer for his wife at the Paris Olympics.

During a segment on NFL Network's "Inside Training Camp Live," Owens couldn't stop gushing over his amazing wife. Over the moon over the wins and her efforts, the Chicago Bears star added that he was just happy to be sitting there:

"I was able to witness it and experience the energy, and the culture and just watch everyone react to her. My wife's a warrior.”

Simone Biles, of course, has always been supportive of Owens. She often attends NFL games to cheer her husband, last attending the Bears' preseason game this month.
