Jason Kelce steers clear of public conversations about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship
Jason Kelce made a name for himself throughout his 13 seasons in the NFL. The former Philadelphia Eagles center has also become popular for his "New Heights" podcast alongside younger brother Travis Kelce. That popularity has now gotten even bigger after Travis Kelce began dating Taylor Swift last summer.
Jason was a guest on the latest episode of "The Pivot" podcast and spoke about the spotlight that has been put on his family. The former center spoke about the caution he uses when speaking of Travis and Taylor Swift's relationship in order not to be disrespectful.
"There was a lead-up to it, there was the whole thing on the pod about him trying to get a friendship bracelet to her, so I knew that there was something," Kelce said.
"But I think he was very cautious about even telling me or anybody because the reality is she is under such a microscope. I think they wanted to make sure everything was done in a way that was respectful to people's privacy and I think they are still trying to do that."
Jason Kelce learned as a player that everything he says is under a microscope and that he has to be careful what he says and to whom. A concept that helps him navigate the attention that his brother, Travis Kelce's relationship brings to their family.
"Even now, I want to be respectful of them and I don't want anybody to feel like there is like a perceived - like I am violating some sort of private relationship," Jason added.
"It's really not my place to speak on their relationship but he is my brother and I am very happy for him. You just have to be conscious of how you are saying things because it is under such a microscope." (47:26)
Jason Kelce is nervous starting new role at ESPN
Jason Kelce may have called it a career as a player in the NFL but he's not completely done with his involvement with the sport. The Super Bowl-winning center will kick off his next career as an NFL analyst with ESPN when he appears on the "Monday Night Countdown" show.
Jason feels a bit nervous about stepping into his next career endeavor.
"I guess I’m fearful that I’m not going to be prepared. Because I feel like there’s a lot more autonomy," he said on the Pivot podcast.
The 36-year-old will debut with the network on Monday, September 8, 2024.
