"We can safely assume that my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill" - Jason Kelce says he lost Super Bowl ring in a pool of chili at New Heights event
Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce revealed earlier this month that he had lost his Super Bowl ring during a game at a "New Heights" live show.
Jason, who hosted an episode of his hit podcast with his brother Travis at their alma mater, the University of Cincinnati, said his prized possession had disappeared during the Great Lombaby Games.
One of the events required contestants to search for replica Super Bowl rings tied to socks in a pool of chili. However, one of the rings wasn't a replica.
"There was an unfortunate-ness as you guys know, this game existed because I continued to lose my Super Bowl ring. And I don't even know if Travis still knows this. But I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event. They could not find it."
"Jake and intern Brandon the next day searching through the chili to try and find the sock that had my Super Bowl ring in it. We have still yet to find it. All of this stuff has been thrown away. So I think we can safely assume that my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill someplace in the Cincinnati tri-state area. I didn't think that would happen."
Kayla Follmuth, a brand director at Wave Sports + Entertainment, filed a report with the University of Cincinnati police. According to the police report, the ring is valued at around $100,000.
Travis Kelce reacts to brother Jason Kelce losing his SB ring
While Jason did not appear too upset by the incident, his brother Travis Kelce expressed his frustration.
“What did you expect to happen? You’re such a f***ng imbecile. God dammit Jason,” he said.
Jason announced his retirement after the 2023-24 season, meaning he will be unable to win another Super Bowl ring unless he decides to return to action.
