Jaylen Waddle reveals state of Dolphins' locker room as Miami braces for prolonged Tua Tagovailoa injury layoff

During the Miami Dolphins' Thursday night loss to the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game in the second half after suffering a concussion. Tagovailoa's body locked up and his hands made involuntary movements.

It is important to note that Tagovailoa suffered multiple concussions during the 2022 season. After the scary hit, Dolphins players were emotional. Many were seen with their heads down and on their knees.

Receiver Jaylen Waddle was asked by reporters on Monday if there was a feeling of loss or sadness hanging over the team after Tagovailoa's injury.

Waddle responded:

"Nah, not, not really. We got confidence in all our players here. We go out and compete with everybody that we go against."

As of right now, there is no timetable for the quarterback's injury, but Miami will treat it on a week-to-week basis.

As a result of Tua Tagovailoa suffering another concussion and missing some time, the Miami Dolphins added another quarterback to their roster. The Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley off of the Ravens practice squad Monday morning.

Huntley has been a member of the Baltimore Ravens since 2020, starting a total of nine games over the course of four seasons. He was named a Pro Bowler in 2022.

Huntley has a 3-6 record, completing 64.6 percent of his passes for 1,957 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also has 509 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Huntley has a chance to be in the mix to start for Miami once he's used to the system.

Miami backup Skylar Thomspon, who filled in for Tagovailoa on Thursday night, is expected to start against the Seattle Seahawks next week on the road. Thompson was Miami's seventh-round draft pick in 2022 and has three starts in his NFL career.

Thompson completed 8-of-14 passes for 80 yards in Thursday's loss to the Buffalo Bills.
