Jerry Jones makes feelings clear over Cowboys' potential move ahead of NFL trade deadline
The Dallas Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones were harshly criticized this offseason for not adding new free agents, specifically at the running back position. They re-signed Ezekiel Elliott but missed the chance of signing Derrick Henry while letting Tony Pollard sign with the Tennessee Titans.
With Dallas suffering many injuries this season (notably Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence) with a lot of injuries on defense, fans expect and are hopeful that the struggling 3-4 Cowboys will make a move or two before Tuesday's trade deadline expires on Tuesday.
Jones made his weekly appearance on "105.3 The Fan" this morning. Jones was asked about the possibility of the team doing something before next week's NFL trade deadline.
"If I see something ... we look for all the meat on the bone that can improve our team," Jones said.
Could the Cowboys potentially target a running back like Jacksonville Jaguars' Travis Etienne, who has struggled and dealt with injuries this season? Could Dallas acquire an edge rusher for cheap, such as Za'Darius Smith? Or could Dallas surprise everyone and make a completely different trade for somebody under the radar? We will have until Tuesday evening to find out.
