Jerry Jones' DNA test set to steer paternity lawsuit with billionaire Cowboys owner still fighting in court

Earlier this year, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was hit with a lawsuit after a 25-year-old woman named Alexandra Davis claimed that Jones was her father. The woman claimed he had sworn her mother to secrecy in return for financial support. With the case still ongoing, Jones is now being asked to submit to a paternity test.

As per Davis' lawsuit, she was conceived while Jones was seeing her mother in the mid-1990s. Her mother, Cynthia Davis, was going to receive money from Jones as support, the condition being secrecy in public.

While the exact reasoning is unknown, Jones might not have wanted to make the relationship or fling public due to his being married.

The new motion was filed by Davis' attorneys, where they asked Jones for DNA testing on October 10. The motion was addressed during a hearing on Tuesday in the in the 302nd District Court. Andrew Bergman, Davis' attorney, said:

“We feel good, but it’s just a step. This has been a lifelong ordeal to her. She just had the courage in the last year to find her way and decide that she doesn’t want to live in the shadows.”

As per Bergman, Jerry Jones' lawyers have filed for an appeal, which might not be of much use. The initial lawsuit by Alexandra claimed that Jones met her mother, who was separated from her husband. She has been working as a ticket agent at Little Rock airport.

After a DNA test, it was proved that Alexandra Davis was not the daughter of her mother's husband.

The stories could line up as the show introduced Alexandra's mother as a single mother who had a trust fund.

Jones is said to have held up to his side of the bargain, paying Cynthia Davis Spencer $375,000 for her silence. The agreement to ensure secrecy was signed with Alexandra was a year old. The lawsuit reads:

"Fatherless and in secret and in fear that if she should tell anyone who her father was, she and her mother would lose financial support, or worse."

Jerry Jones has been married to his wife Eugenia Jones since 1963. It will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds.
