Jerry Jones willing to put lot of 'energy, juice, bulls**t' to stretch a dollar over Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb contracts

The Dallas Cowboys are yet to strike terms on contract negotiations with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. Jerry Jones, the owner of the franchise, recently spoke about the future of both star players and gave the fans some clarity about the situation.

As per Cowboys insider Jon Machota, Jones said that he is willing to spend a lot of energy to sort out the contracts of their star players. He said:

"I want to say to our fans, I'm good with math. I'm very good. And I can stretch a dollar, because I can put a lot of energy, juice, and bulls**t with it. And so I maximize what we've got to work with, I like to think, as well as anybody in sports."

Lamb is currently not present at the Cowboys training camp, and while Prescott is actively participating in it, the quarterback recently made comments that indicated he is not scared to leave the franchise in free agency next year.

The Cowboys' offseason has been a disaster, and Micah Parsons' brother, Terrence Parsons Jr., recently commented on the situation and took a subtle dig at the franchise's front office.

Parsons is eligible for an extension as well, but he is unlikely to sign a deal this offseason. The star defensive player is expected to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league once he inks his new deal.

It will be interesting to see what Jerry Jones does in the coming weeks since Lamb's absence from the training camp could cause huge issues at the start of the season. As for Dak Prescott, he is unlikely to get a new deal before the end of this season.

Both CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott are seeking top-of-the-market money with their new deals. For Lamb, he is expected to sign a deal north of $32 million in annual average value that will put him just behind Justin Jefferson among the highest-paid receivers in the league.

Prescott, on the other hand, is expected to sign a deal around $55-$58 million in annual average value that could make him the highest-paid player in the league's history. However, his contract value will depend on how he plays this season.

If he once again flames out in the playoffs or doesn't play well against good teams, it will be hard for Prescott to convince the Cowboys or any other team to make him the highest-paid player in the league next offseason.
