JJ Watt claps back at Patriots' Jerod Mayo for calling his team "soft"
JJ Watt did not mince his words when it came to blasting Jerod Mayo for his comments about the New England Patriots following their loss to Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday, marking the team's sixth straight loss this season. The Patriots managed to just rake in 16 points, while the 1-5 Jaguars recorded 32.
During the post-game interaction with the media, HC Jerod Mayo had probably one of the worst things one could say about the team's performance.
"We’re a soft football team," Mayo said.
On the latest episode of the "Pat McAfee Show," former Arizona Cardinals player, JJ Watt, said that he completely disagreed with Mayo's remark. He said that players are "laying their bodies on the line" for the team.
"You're sitting there and you hear that, and you're just like, ''F**k man. No, I'm f**king laying everything I got on the line for this team. I'm putting my body on the line, and I'm now labeled as soft.'"
Watt said that one or two players could be soft, but to call the entire team soft was unfair to players who were putting their health on the line, slamming their heads into people, and getting tackled, all to get called "soft" by their own coach.
JJ Watt hoped that Jerod Mayo knew that his team would take it in a positive way and use his comments to drive them to play better in the upcoming games. But he also warned that some players could take his comments negatively and "shut down."

The marketing mastermind behind the Dallas Cowboys' $10 billion valuation, despite the team not winning the Super Bowl in 29 years has launched a new initiative to generate even more revenue for the team.
Jerry Jones has launched a tour of the Cowboys stadium, allowing fans to experience a "day in the life of a Cowboys player" for a base ticket price of $40.
According to Jones, the tour has generated $10 million in annual revenue. However, JJ Watt who was at the Cowboys' stadium recently had some harsh words to say.
"You feel like you're an exhibit at a much bigger circus. There are just a 100 things going on. They have those dancers up there. They have a concert going on. The game doesn't feel like it's the most important part of the day there." [1:45]
Players have spoken against the tour but Jerry Jones has been turning a deaf ear to them.
