J.J. Watt gets puzzling NFL request days after Seahawks WR DK Metcalf's drug test
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf recently posted a video of himself making an impressive catch before appearing in the NBA's Celebrity All-Star game. His performance on the basketball court was just as impressive as his one-handed catch. Apparently, the National Football League thought so as well and requested he take a drug test.
While that's not completely out of the ordinary, there's another situation that is a bit confusing. Recently retired defensive end J.J. Watt posted a tweet on Tuesday afternoon showing a text message that he received from the NFL. The text stated that Watt was expected to take a drug test and needed to call to set up a time.
Watt captioned the tweet by saying that he didn't know what would happen if the junk link was clicked on the iPhone but that he was about to find out.
"I don’t know what happens when you click “Report Junk” but I think I’m about to find out…"
J.J. Watt has said in the past that he is definitely retired since walking off the field at the end of the 2022 NFL season with the Arizona Cardinals. Perhaps it was a mix-up and he was still on the list of NFL players that needed to be tested, although that's unlikely. It's perplexing that the league would test a retired athlete.
DK Metcalf named MVP of Celebrity All-Star Game
DK Metcalf played in the NBA's Celebrity All-Star Game on Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah. Metcalf led Dwyane Wade's team to an 81-78 win, with the wide receiver scoring 20 points, posting 10 rebounds and blocking four shots.
He impressed the crowd and the other celebrities in attendance with his dominant play and ability to dunk. His performance led to him being named the MVP.
