Joe Burrow sets timeline for 2024 NFL return after wrist surgery recovery
In the Cincinnati Bengals' Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens last season, quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist. The injury required season-ending surgery, leaving Burrow sidelined for the last seven games.
As Burrow has been rehabbing his injury this off-season, the former first-overall pick delivered some positive news about his recovery on Tuesday during the Bengals' media day. Speaking to local reporters, Burrow said that he's learning to maneuver his body in different ways and should be 'ready to go' by the start of the regular season.
"I'll be ready to go by the season. You're learning to maneuver your body in different ways."
Burrow finished his 2023-24 campaign going 5-5 in the 10 games he started for the Bengals. He completed 66.8 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six picks after a slump to begin the season.
Without Burrow, the team finished 4-3, ending the season with a 9-8 record, just missing the playoffs.
At least for now, Bengals fans don't have to worry whether or not Burrow will be ready for the start of the 2024-25 season.
