Johnny Manziel recaps 'whirlwind' post-Heisman party circuit night with Drake in Toronto

Johnny Manziel has been known in the NFL world for his on and off-the-field work. He began his celebrity partying journey with none other than famous musician Drake.

The former Cleveland Browns star made a name for himself on the college circuit while playing for the Texas A&M. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2012, which opened new doors for him. 'Johnny Football' revealed on Cam Newton’s ‘4th and 1’ podcast details about his party after winning the prestigious trophy.

“I mean you get a chance to come to New York City you walk across that stage you get that trophy,” Manziel said. “After that, I was in that social media age where anything was accessible. I hop on there one night I get a chance, and I see a message from Drake. The boy says, ‘Come to Toronto. Come hang out, kick it’. So, of course, me I'm sitting there I had to scrounge up all my little dollars I have in college.”
“I hit the flight straight to Toronto went to the city for the first time and got a chance to really be around one of who I think is one of the greatest musicians that has ever got a chance to grace it. So, for me to get a chance to go out to the clubs, go to Toronto, really hit a city like that, really explore and see. Then at the end of it, I got to hop on a flight and go back to College Station, Texas.” (10:34 – 11:18)

Due to off-field disciplinary issues, Johnny Manziel was unable to transform his successful college career into a worthwhile NFL career. After his second season in the big leagues, he was cut by the Browns and was never signed by another NFL team.

Cam Newton suggests Johnny Manziel would have more NIL money

When Cam Newton and Manziel were tearing up college defenses, NIL did not exist. However, on his podcast with Manziel, Newton argued that if NIL had been in place, Manziel would have been paid more than him.

"When I went to Auburn, at least $2 million”, Newton said. “It’s a lot of money in college. But you would’ve definitely had more.” (15:09)

Earlier Johnny Manziel had claimed that Newton would have made more money, but in the end agreed to Newton’s hypothesis.
