Jordan Love's fiancée Ronika Stone hails Simone Biles as all-time great after record-making performance at Olympics 2024
On Tuesday, Simone Biles officially became the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history when she clinched gold in the team final alonsgide Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera in Paris. It was her eighth medal of her Olympic career (five golds, one silver, and two bronzed) and her 38th between the Olympics and World Championships - already an all-time record regardless of gender.
Biles is married to ex-Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens, who signed for Chicago Bears ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, following Biles' historic feat, the Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love's fiancee Ronika Stone hailed her as an all-time great. She reposted ESPN's post congratulating Biles on her Instagram story, with the caption:
"No one better"
Biles, meanwhile, downplayed the significance of her achievement, telling PEOPLE:
"I don't keep count, I don't keep stats. I just go out here and do what I'm supposed to and I'm doing what I love and enjoying it, so that's really all that matters to me. Yes, it's amazing, now that I hear it, but I don't think I'll truly understand the depth of it until I walk away from the sport."
Both Jordan Love, Ronika Stone enter new seasons with long-term future secured
When it comes to money, Jordan Love is obviously set to make more of than his fiancee. However, Ronika Stone actually beat him to securing her competitive and financial future.
Earlier this month, the Pro Volleyball Federation's San Diego Mojo announced that they had re-signed Ronika Stone for the 2025 season, which will see an expansion to ten teams from seven. The middle blocker said of the development:
“Returning to San Diego fills me with a renewed excitement and determination. After falling short last season, my sights are set on redemption and the ultimate goal, of course – to bringing home the championship.”
During the previous season, Stone was very prolific, leading the league in hitting percentage and being named to the all-league second team. The Mojo made the playoffs, but lost to the eventual champion Omaha Supernovas.
Love would not secure his own future until Friday night, when he agreed to a four-year, $220-million extension with the Green Bay Packers. Speaking about its significance, general manager Brian Gutekunst said:
“I'm really excited for Jordan Love and his family. He’s been through a lot here. He’s worked his tail off, and he’s certainly earned this. This is the guy who is going to lead us into the future, and we’re really excited about it.”
The new contract includes a $75-million signing bonus, the largest in NFL history.
