Jordan Love wins over Brett Favre by sporting Packers legend's No. 4 jersey ahead of Vikings clash
In honor of Brett Favre, Jordan Love wore the Green Bay Packers No. 4 jersey on Sunday ahead of the matchup against NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings, at Lambeau Field.
Love paired the jersey with jeans and white sneakers. The video of his gameday look came across Favre, who thanked the quarterback and gave his seal of approval.
"Big respect to @jordan3love for wearing this old man’s jersey. I didn’t think I could like Jordan anymore until this morning."-Favre wrote on X
Jordan Love's gesture comes days after Brett Favre revealed that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Love is set to make his first start since Week 1, when he injured his MCL in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
Jordan Love shared thoughts and prayers for Brett Favre after diagnosis
Brett Favre revealed his Parkinson's diagnosis while appearing before Congress as part of a congressional hearing on Tuesday. The news quickly circulated around the NFL and caused even more concern among NFL players about the risks and post-NFL complications from frequent head injuries.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love shared his well wishes for the former NFL quarterback while talking about the risk involved in playing.
“I’ll definitely be praying for Brett," Love told reporters. "It’s obviously a very tough situation. I think in terms of playing the game, taking hits to the head, it’s one of those things we know the risks as players.
"We know what we signed up for, and it’s out there. But it’s one of those things you don’t think about it as a player. You just go out there and play. You give it your all, you give it your best, and you just leave it all on the field.”
Brett Favre played 20 seasons, mostly with the Green Bay Packers from 1992 until 2007. Since his retirement in 2010, he has expressed concerns about the effects of the concussions he suffered throughout his career.
