Josh Allen claps back after being dubbed NFL's most overrated QB
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has a unique response to the recent title he was given by fellow NFL players. ESPN released findings of a poll they presented to over 100 players in the National Football League. When asked who the "Most Overrated Quarterback" in the league was, Josh Allen was the most common response.
Allen was also named the league's "Best Trash Talker," and he didn't let the newfound titles go without responding to them. The 28-year-old quarterback who is headed into his seventh NFL season, shared his thoughts in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. His social media post clearly shows that he is unbothered by the comments from other players in the league.
"So you’re telling me, I was voted as the #1 … best trash talker??? Let’s goooooo!!!"-Allen wrote on X
The Bills quarterback may have not won a Super Bowl yet, but he does already have over 22,000 passing yards, 3,600 rushing yards and 220 total touchdowns. He has also led the Buffalo Bills to the postseason in five of his six seasons in the league. There's no doubt, Allen will use these poll results as motivation heading into the 2024 NFL season.
Louis Riddick shocked by Josh Allen being named 'most overrated'
ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, who has experience working as an NFL executive, was shocked to hear of Wednesday's poll results. Riddick said on "Get Up" that he doesn't feel Josh Allen deserved to be named 'overrated' and mentioned his success against the Kansas City Chiefs as an example.
“I’m shocked. It’s the Kansas City Chiefs are the team that said, ‘Look, when we play Josh Allen, we know [that] with one swing of that arm, he can win the football game.’ And he almost did it against them just this past year if Stefon Diggs makes the catch, and that throw, maybe the only other quarterback that can make that throw that he made to Stefon is their quarterback. Basically, they’re staring at a guy who can do a lot of the same things that their quarterback can do."-said Riddick
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts came in second and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa rounded out the top three 'overrated quarterbacks' by their peers.
