Josh Allen's former teammate Tre’Davious White dishes out smack talk for Bills QB
Josh Allen and Tre’Davious White played six years together at the Buffalo Bills before the latter joined the Los Angeles Rams this offseason.
The Rams will host the Bills at SoFi Stadium in Week 14 of the 2024 season. Now, White has dished out a bit of smack talk for the Buffalo quarterback ahead of what promises to be a mouthwatering clash in December.
White, a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, spoke to Kay Adams on her Up and Adams show on Saturday. He outlined his feelings about potentially playing against his former team:
"I want to win, obviously I want to win for my team, but you know, it's gonna be a lot of things put out there before the games to try to make it bigger than what it is. But ultimately, once the game starts, it's 11 against 11.
"I don't have a circle but I will say like, the people there, the relationships that are built there. This is gonna last a lifetime... the Bills love me so much. I'm pretty sure I pick off Josh, they're gonna cheer for me," White added.
The Bills drafted White in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft. He racked up 311 tackles, 68 pass deflections, 18 interceptions and five forced fumbles during his time with the franchise.
White picked up a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 4 of the 2023 season and the Bills released him in the offseason. Nonetheless, he was able to land a one-year, $4.25 million contract with the Rams.
Josh Allen and Tre’Davious White won four divisional titles together at Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen and Tre’Davious White won four consecutive AFC East divisional titles with the Buffalo Bills from 2020 to 2023. While Allen played a key role in the team's offense, White was one of the top cornerbacks in the franchise that built up a solid rearguard.
Allen will continue to lead the Bills' offense in the 2024 season, but White will not don a Buffalo uniform for the first time in his pro career.
It will be interesting to see whether White can pick off Allen when his Rams welcome the Bills in the Week 14 matchup on December 8.
