Justin Jefferson drops advice for Ja'Marr Chase over Bengals WR's $140,000,000.01 contract pursuit
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase are two of the best wide receivers in the NFL. The two were teammates together at LSU from 2018-2019, and remain close friends today.
In the offseason, the Vikings and Jefferson came to terms on a four-year, $140 million contract extension that includes $110 million guaranteed. The deal makes him the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.
Chase, who is entering his fourth season this year, is looking to become the next hghest-paid wide receiver. He's currently not practicing with the Bengals and his status for Week 1 remains unknown as he is looking for a new deal. His buddy Justin Jefferson gave him some advice on the "Up & Adams Show" with Kay Adams.
Jefferson said:
"I haven't really talked him to too much about it but, I'm pretty sure, or confident that he's going to be about his business and show up when he needs to show up. I mean, I hope he gets the deal and contract he's looking for. But I also hope that he plays it smart and not let it get in the way of his greatness and being on the field."

Ja'Marr Chase is hoping fora contract extension that will make him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.
As of right now, Justin Jefferson, is the highest-paid wide receiver. He is making $35 million per season on his four-year $140 million deal. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb became the second-highest paid receiver this offseason, signing a four-year $136 million extension, being paid $34 million per season.
A few more notable receiver contract extensions were signed in the offseason with AJ Brown getting a three-year $96 million extension from the Philadelphia Eagles and Amon-Ra St. Brown getting a four-year $120 million deal from the Detroit Lions. Brandon Aiyuk also got an extension from the San Francisco 49ers that pays him $30 million per year over four years.
Miami Dolphins wide recevier Tyreek Hill is tied with Aiyuk as the fifth-highest paid wide recevier in the NFL at $30 million per year.
If and when Ja'Marr Chase signs his contract extension, he could become the first wide recevier in NFL history to make more than $35 million per season.
