Kay Adams opens up about the challenges of being a female sports analyst: "I'm not allowed to stutter"
Earlier this year, there were rumors that sportcaster Kay Adams and New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones were dating. This became a rumor after a training camp interview between the two left Adams stuttering, and eventually the video went viral online.
Fans started to spark rumors thinking that they were possibly dating. During an interview with Giants offensive lineman, Jermaine Eleumunor, Adams jokingly addressed the issue with: "You gotta protect your boy, my boy, the world and internet thinks [is] my boy." At the end of the interview she added, "Go protect my boyfriend."
Recently, on "The 25/10 Show" podcast, Adams opened up about the issues of being a female sports reporter. She said that she's basically not allowed to stutter and that's how the rumors of her and Jones started.
Kay Adams said to co-hosts DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy:
"So basically, to answer your question about being a woman in sports, I'm not allowed to stutter... if I stutter, it's like, oh, she likes him. She wants to be with him. That's where that came from."
Despite the rumors, Adams confirmed during the podcast that in reality, the two are not dating. Jones is dating former Duke lacrosse star Ella Bonafede, while Kay Adams isn't publicly linked to dating anyone.
Daniel Jones and the New York Giants desperately need a win in Week 3
Speaking of reality, the New York Giants and Daniel Jones desperately need a win in Week 2. The Giants have an 0-2 record with losses to the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Commanders.
Entering Week 3, the Giants are in sole posession of last place in the NFC East. They're the only winless team through two games with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders holding 1-1 records.
The Giants and Daniel Jones will face the 1-1 Cleveland Browns this week on the road on Sunday. A loss would keep the Giants in last place heading into Week 4.
As the Giants and Jones prepare for the Browns, he's confident in the team's abilty to come out with a victory.
Jones said in an interview earlier this week:
“We’re a good football team. We have a high standard for ourselves and what we can be. We’re confident in getting things going and working hard to do that... No one’s freaking out.”
As for the Browns, they enter Sunday's game with a 1-1 record. They trail the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North who hold a 2-0 record. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals have 0-2 records and are tied for last place.
Who do you think will win Sunday's game between the Giants and the Browns?
