Keenan Allen reveals uncertain future as WR picks 2 possible homes
Four days ago, NFL veteran WR Keenan Allen, who was traded to the Chicago Bears in March 2024, hinted at his future in the league.
On "The Big Dog Show" podcast, hosted by Bears teammate Marcedes Lewis and ESPN 1000’s David Kaplan, Allen talked about the potential teams for 2025 and narrowed it down to two.
"I will say this: I'm not playing—it's Chicago or LA," he mentioned.
When asked about the possibility of joining the New York Giants, the WR, who contract with the Bears is expiring in 2025, chimed in:
"No, definitely not the Giants."
Kellen's choice of the Chicago Bears is rather intriguing because the team is putting up with coaching challenges and narrow losses — the last one being their loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
Before joining the Chicago Bears, Keenan Allen played with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2013 to 2023. That said, Kellen has mentioned "LA". So, apart from the Chargers, the Rams could also be on his radar.
Keenan Allen shared his post-game frustration over Bears loss against the Lions after
On Thursday, against the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears WR Keenan Allen had a standout performance with a touchdown reception, but a questionable late-game decision sealed the Bears' fate.
Notably frustrated, Allen while speaking to the reporters said:
"I feel like we did enough as players to win the game."
The Chicago Bears were very close to setting up a game-winning play in the final moments. However, Caleb Williams was sacked with 32 seconds left.
Since coach Matt Eberflus didn’t use the team’s last timeout, the offense scrambled. As time expired, the rookie QB was forced to throw a desperate pass that remained incomplete, leading to the team's loss.
"You got to talk to the people who control those things," Allen said in light of the timeout blunder. "I hear the play, line up and run the play. I don't know."
Despite the chaos in the Chicago Bears, the chemistry between veteran Keenan Allen and rookie Caleb Williams is brewing. So, there's a possibility that the rapport could influence the WR's decision to stay back in Chicago.
