Kevin Durant picks his ultimate NFL squad for lavish dinner

Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant is an avid fan of the NFL. Each week, Durant makes an appearance on the "Up and Adams Show" and discusses various sports topics with host Kay Adams.

This week, Adams presented Durant with an interesting question, one that really had him thinking about the answer. She asked Durant if he could have dinner with anyone involved in the NFL and who it would be.

"I want to picture you at Nobu where you can walk in at anytime and get a table. It's you and three NFL people that you want to have a football discussion with. Who are those three people?" Adams asked.

Durant responded by naming three big-name NFL coaches: Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin, Super Bowl-winning coach Bill Belichick, and Miami Dolphins' Mike McDaniel. The Phoenix Suns star also said that he got to know McDaniel well this past offseason while spending time in Miami, Florida.

"Mike Tomlin, I know I keep saying his name. Belichick, I'll go Belichick and McDaniel, I got to know him this summer from Miami," Durant responded.

Adams said that she found it interesting that he mentioned three coaches and not players. Durant expressed his admiration for those three head coaches.

Durant gave Tomlin high praise

Durant may want to have dinner with Tomlin, but he would also like to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers coach. Durant revealed this on the show's latest episode and explained that it's not only Tomlin's success of never having a losing record with the Steelers but also his character and leadership.

"I try to listen to his interviews and postgame pressers... seems like a GREAT dude to play for," Durant said.

Durant, also a four-time Olympic gold medalist, said that he is impressed with the way that Tomlin goes about his business. Since taking the job as the coach of Pittsburgh in 2007, he led the team to two Super Bowl appearances, one win in Super Bowl XLIII, and 11 AFC playoff appearances. The Steelers, under Tomlin, have never amassed a losing record.
