Kevin Hart sides with Tom Brady as retired NFL icon expresses regret over viral Netflix roast

Even though it's been three months since the viral Netflix roast of Tom Brady, fans haven't stopped talking about it. As entertaining as Tom Brady's Netflix roast was, the former Patriots quarterback had to face quite a bit of criticism for the same.

Tom Brady even expressed regret over the roast during an appearance on "The Pivot Podcast," expressing it was too much for his family. In an interview with Bleacher Report, Kevin Hart described how he understands why Tom Brady was protective of his family amidst the Netflix roast.

"I can side with Tom and see where he’s coming from and just him wanting to protect the idea of family and the conversation attached to that. That’s probably where that’s coming from. And you know, I’m not privy to whatever he dealt with after, so I know his response and saying something about it was a result of possibly that," Kevin Hart said. (Timestamp - 1:13:16)

Even though Tom Brady asked the makers to keep his family out of the roast, there were still jokes cracked on his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, and her boyfriend. Brady expressed how he didn't like the way the jokes on Gisele affected his kids.

“It’s the hardest part about the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world," Brady noted.

During the same interview, Kevin Hart revealed that Brady didn't really regret the roast. Instead, he just wished it was done differently, in which certain things that were requested to be out, stayed out of the roast. Talking about the same, Kevin Hart said:

"When he says he regretted doing it … I think he’s saying, ‘I could have tapered it a little differently, or [had] a conversation pre-[roast], of like, ‘Guys, let’s go and do this but let’s not touch this or this.'"
“The idea of going all in and just saying, ‘I don’t care, because I know the world would love to see me being on the receiving end of s–t because I’m Tom Brady and I’ve been at the highest stage all my life,’ I think it was that," Hart added.

Ex-Titans HC Mike Vrabel jokes about Tom Brady's Netflix roast

Earlier this week, the former head coach of Tennessee Titans, Mike Vrabel, made an appearance on the 'Pardon My Take' podcast. During the podcast, Vrabel expressed how impressed he was with Tom Brady’s Netflix roast even though he hadn't been invited to the event.

"The roast was funny. The funny parts. I didn’t sit there for three hours, but there was some funny stuff. There’s a lot of stuff left in there that we could’ve done. I like to age gracefully. I got wrinkles, crows feet, scars. There’s just a polish and shine on that face of his right now. He’s like airbrushed," Mike Vrabel said. (Time Stamp - 1:20:51)

Many fans have felt that the Netflix roast crossed certain lines, especially with jokes about Bady's exes. However, Brady's former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman feels that the Netflix roast was fun, even though it was close to inappropriate.
