"King of boxing!": Deebo Samuel, Maxx Crosby and other NFL stars react to Gervonta Davis' KO win over Frank Martin

Gervonta "Tank" Davis once again proved his supremacy inside the boxing ring on Saturday night. His KO win over Frank Martin sent tremors around the world, and a few NFL players were also caught in the storm of support for the WBA lightweight champion.

Davis took center stage after staying away from the ring for more than a year after defeating Ryan Garcia last April. On Saturday night, he faced an undefeated Frank Martin (18-0), and the challenger kept frustrating the champion in the early rounds.

However, Davis regained control toward the end and knocked out his opponent in the eighth round. The KO win had NFL pros swearing their allegiance to the champion.

“KING OF BOXING!!!! TANK MF DAVIS,” Maxx Crossby posted.

Deebo Samuel couldn’t contain his excitement after Gervonta Davis’ win.

“Tank (goat)’d. Frank zzzzzzd up!!!!”

Several NFL stars, including Lamar Jackson, reacted to Davis' return victory, after which he improved his record to 30-0 and retained the WBA lightweight title.

“Tank really like that !!” Saquon Barkley tweeted.
“Yep! Tank did it again! It’s over! OH MY GOD!” Jalen Ramsey wrote.
“Tank PRESSED HIM LOL and finished him sheesh,” LeSean McCoy tweeted.

The NFL pros have shown a propensity to gravitate toward other contact-based sports like combat sports. Apart from boxing, the NFL stars also like MMA.

What's next for Gervonta Davis?

After claiming another victory inside the squared circle, fans including NFL pros will want a quick turnaround from the champ. Gervonta Davis does not lack high-profile options for his next bout. That includes rematches against Ryan Garcia and Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz or taking on fresh blood in the likes of Vasiliy Lomachenko or Shakur Stevenson.

It remains to be seen which direction Gervonta "Tank" Davis takes as he navigates his career, but one thing is certain: the NFL pros will be watching him.
