Simone Biles, Olympic gold medalist gymnast, will have a new Netflix documentary titled "Simone Biles Rising." The documentary, releasing on July 17, chronicles the mental health issues that led to her withdrawal from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and her rehabilitation and recovery ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Here is the synopsis for the two-parter, according to Just Jared:
"At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she was one of the biggest stories leading into the Games. But competitions do not always go as planned. And the world had a front-row seat as her private struggle with mental health exploded on the international stage – forcing her to withdraw.
"Since then, Simone has put in the hard work. Her courage to soar knows no bounds, as this summer she plans to return to the Olympic stage to do what she has always done: be the best that she can be. Because through it all, Simone still rises."
"Simone Biles Rising" is directed by Katie Walsh and produced by Gotham Chopra of Religion in cooperation with the Olympic Channel. It is expected to showcase previously unseen footage of Biles, from gymnastics competitions to her married life with Jonathan Owens.

Outside of gymnastics, Biles is well-known for her marriage to Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens. The two first got engaged in February 2022 and got wedded 14 months later in April 2023.
