Kylian Mbappe to the NFL? RGIII believes France's FIFA World Cup hero would be incredible WR

Anybody who saw the FIFA World Cup final on Sunday, and Robert Griffin III certainly did, saw Kylian Mbappe at the very top of his game. Even though Argentina won the World Cup final, the French striker was the best player on the pitch.

He scored a hat-trick, becoming the first player since Geoff Hurst in 1966 to do so in the ultimate game. It was almost unfortunate that he was on the losing side.

Then again, Kylian Mbappe won the last soccer World Cup as a teenager in 2018. He is just 23 years old but already has one World Cup title and now has a runner-up medal to go with it.

His three goals on Sunday ensured that he also won the Golden Boot, which is given to the top goalscorer of the tournament. The France international was the Young Player of the World Cup in 2018. So, even at a young age, there is not much for him left to achieve as a soccer player.

Many congratulations to Mbappe, whatever happens. I've had a great run!

Robert Griffin III, therefore, has another proposition for him. The former NFL quarterback has thrown to his fair share of receivers over the years. But he was salivating at the prospect of having someone like Kylian Mbappe as a receiver in the NFL.

We don't know what the odds are, but we can certainly see why RGIII would be excited by the prospect.

What did RGIII see in Kylian Mbappe?

Kylian Mbappe was a one-man wrecking ball in the FIFA World Cup final against Argentina. Playing against Lionel Messi and his team, the French side were down 2-0 in regulation time, but he scored two in under two minutes to bring them back and force extra time.

In extra time, after Messi had given them the lead again, he brought the game back level, by converting a penalty. He even scored in the penalty shootout.

Imagine throwing Mbappe a play action slant and he takes it 70 yards to the HOUSE.

What RGIII and others would have seen was a player who was extremely fast. He left everyone trailing behind in his wake as he ran. He was elusive, popping up in pockets where nobody could keep up with him.

Mbappe was adept at drawing fouls against him for the same reason. Additionally, he was ice cool in the biggest of moments. All of this adds up to everything one needs in a wide receiver in the NFL.

There is probably no likelihood that Mbappe will ever make the transition to becoming an NFL player, but it is exciting to imagine him, thanks to RGIII.
