Kyren Williams expresses honest thoughts on Rams' addition of Blake Corum

Running back Kyren Williams had a breakout season in 2023, emerging as a dominant threat in the Los Angeles Rams run game. The Rams then selected former Michigan Wolverines standout Blake Corum in the third round of this year's draft.

On "The Rich Eisen Show," Williams was glad that the Los Angeles Rams drafted Corum and that it will now allow him to show his talent as a route runner and in the slot.

“So for me, it’s just living by that, just picking off what I did last year, being able to create more explosives in the run game, and also being able to create more explosives in the pass game," Williams said.
"I’m super excited that we went to go draft Blake Corum, somebody who can run the ball very well and hopefully it allows me to get to the slot or allows me to just run routes out of the backfield so that I’m able to really showcase my skills that I have for this game.”

Kyren Williams told Rich Eisen that Blake Corum's ability to run the ball down the field will allow their offense to be even more dominant. Quarterback Matthew Stafford now has multiple options when it comes to running or passing the ball.

Kyren Williams' foot injury won't hold him back from training camp

Kyren Williams gave the Los Angeles Rams offense another dimension in 2023. His ability to run the ball down the field took some pressure off quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The Rams are expecting Williams to be a key factor in 2024 as well. The running back's status during offseason workouts was questionable as he dealt with a foot injury.

However, Williams was back during the Rams mandatory minicamp a few weeks ago and head coach Sean McVay confirmed that his running back will be ready for training camp in late July.

“Even in a walk-through setting, you always feel his presence. He’s always got such a great energy about himself. He’s so engaged. He’s got a great focus and concentration. We’ll be glad to be able to have him back in practice settings,” McVay said.

Last season, Williams ran for 1,144 yards on 228 carries and had 12 touchdowns.
