Ladd McConkey’s girlfriend Sydney Horne sparks buzz amid Chargers minicamp: "Y'all just watch"

Former Georgia Bulldogs standout Ladd McConkey is preparing for his rookie season with the Los Angeles Chargers. His longtime girlfriend, Sydney Horne, is cheering on the wide receiver as he prepares to live out his dreams of an NFL career.

On Monday evening, Horne reposted a video from the Chargers' Instagram account which included snapshots from minicamp. In one clip, McConkey was seen catching a pass from Chargers' quarterback Justin Herbert.

Horne hyped up her beau by adding a caption that urged fans to 'just wait' until the season starts and they will see his talents.

The Chargers utilized this year's draft to give their star quarterback his offensive weapons, including McConkey and fellow rookie Brenden Rice from USC—who was also featured in the post that Horne shared.

Kirby Smart shared excitement for Ladd McConkey's future with Chargers

McConkey was drafted 34th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The two-time national champion was a key part of the Georgia Bulldogs team and served as a leader on and off the field.

His former head coach, Kirby Smart took time to celebrate McConkey's draft selection. He credited McConkey's 'impact' on the program and the type of leader he was for the success he had at Georgia. He also expressed how excited he was to see McConkey play for the Chargers next season.

The Chargers drafted McConkey after the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams—key members of the team's offense—in March. With Justin Herbert under a long-term contract and the arrival of new head coach Jim Harbaugh, there is no doubt that Los Angeles will be concentrating on the offense in 2024.
