"Lamar Jackson is out of excuses": Emmanuel Acho calls out Ravens QB after Diontae Johnson trade
Is Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson equipped with enough talent to win a Super Bowl? Former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho certainly thinks so.
After the Ravens' most recent move to acquire wide receiver Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers, Acho said Jackson is out of excuses for not being able to win the Ravens roster.
Acho said via The Facility:
"Lamar has been out of excuses for me. I mean, you all realize about five teams a decade when they win the Super Bowl, so 50% of the time, it's because they have top-flight defenses. Lamar, last year, had a No. 1 defense. His excuses were done then. ... The Ravens tried the elite defense key. It didn't get them out of the room. The room being winning a Super Bowl. Now they're trying the elite offense key, a unanimous MVP.
Acho continued:
"We're going to give you another running back, Derrick Henry, in addition to the running back, you got Rashod Bateman. We drafted him the first round, Zay Flowers. We drafted him the first-round, Mark Andrews, the third round pick some years back. Isaiah Likely an elite tight end. And then we're going to acquire Diontae Johnson, who was a former 1000-yard receiver. Now they're trying the offensive key this has to get you out of the door."
Lamar Jackson has been to the postseason five different seasons but has yet to get past the AFC Championship.
In order to become Super Bowl champions, the Baltimore Ravens will have to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs
In order to appear in the Super Bowl this year, the Baltimore Ravens will have to get through the two-time AFC defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs are the only undefeated team in the NFL with a 7-0 record and hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Ravens are in second place in the AFC North with a 5-3 record.
While it isn't certain that the two teams would face in the postseason, it's likely that they could at some point. In that case, the Ravens would have to dethrone the two-time defending Super Bowl and conference champions.
The Ravens lost their Week 1 game to the Chiefs 27-20 and lost to them in the 2024 AFC Championship game 17-10.
