Lamar Jackson gives due credit to Jayden Daniels after beating the Commanders
Washington Commanders rookie quarterback looks like the real deal. Each week that he plays, he continues to loom more and more like a franchise quarterback for the Commanders.
In the Commanders' 30-23 Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Daniels has been continuing to get praise from his peers, with Ravens' quarterback Lamar Jackson showing him love after Sunday's game.
Speaking to the media following Baltimore's close win against Washington, Jackson gave his respect to Daniels for what he has done in his first six games in the league and says he is deserving of the hype he's been getting.
Jackson said:
"I believe he deserves all the hype he's getting. He played a tremendous game out there, came up short. He's been proving it, you know. His rookie season, first six games he's been playing amazing."
In the loss, Daniels completed 24-of-35 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 22 yards rushing. On the season, Daniels has completed 75.3% of passes, 1,403 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions. He's rushed for 322 yards and four touchdowns;
Baltimore Ravens LB Roquan Smith also praised Jayden Daniels
Lamar Jackson wasn't the only Baltimore Raven that was impressed by Jayden Daniels' performance. Star linebacker Roquan Smith also had positive things to say about Daniels after going against him Sunday.
Smith complimented Daniles of being an all-around quarterback that can excel running or passing, and said that Washington is in good hands with the rookie.
Smith said:
“Washington is in good hands with (Daniels.) He’s the truth, for sure. He can run it, he can throw it whatever you want and for him to come into a hostile environment and perform the way he did, I’ve got much respect for him. He took some licks, too, so the guys."
"I heard he was tough as nails, and even from watching him in college at couple of games, but he showed that. So, much respect and love for that guy, and yes, Washington is in good hands.”
Jayden Daniels was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for September and has been named Rookie of the Week four times this season. He was also named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3.
