Lamar Jackson finally breaks silence about knee injury, all but confirms status for playoff game vs. Bengals

The Baltimore Ravens played the final five games of the 2022 regular season without superstar Lamar Jackson. The quarterback picked up a knee injury during their narrow 10-9 win over the Denver Broncos and has since been out of action.

Jackson's injury was diagnosed as a PCL strain, and he was expected to miss up to three weeks of action. However, over a month later, the former league MVP hasn't fully recovered and hasn't taken part in any practice.

Jackson has been quiet about his injury, but on Thursday, he finally provided an update about his health on Twitter. He wrote:

“Thank you everyone for your support and concerns regarding my injuries. I want to give you all an update as I am in the recovery process. I’ve suffered a PCL grade 2 sprain on the borderline of a strain 3. There is still inflammation surrounding my knee and my knee remains unstable.
"I’m still in good spirits, as I continue with treatments on the road to recovery. I wish I could be out there with my guys more than anything but I can’t give a 100% of myself to my guys and fans. I’m still hopeful we still have a chance.”

Lamar Jackson latest update: Ravens QB set to miss playoff game vs Begals

Lamar Jackson's tweets suggest he will be on the sidelines when his team faces the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night, which is a huge blow to the Ravens. In his absence, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will start for Baltimore.

Jackson could return in the divisional round of the playoffs. But if the Ravens fail to beat the Bengals, there's a possibility that the game against the Broncos, where he suffered the PCL injury, was the last time he suited up for Baltimore.

Jackson will be a free agent at the end of the season. The Ravens reportedly offered him a new deal, but he turned it down. If he and Baltimore fail to reach an agreement on an extension, the team will be forced to use the franchise tag and trade him to the highest bidder.

Lamar Jackson's long-term future is still up in the air, but his immediate future is clear. He won't feature against the Bengals on Sunday night.
