"Last trip as family of 3" - Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany reveals couple are expecting second child on vacation
The Kansas City Chiefs are on a bye this week, so Patrick and Brittany Mahomes used the time off to relax at the beach. Brittany took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, posting a collage of photos of herself, Patrick and their 1-year-old daughter Sterling.
She captioned the photo: "Last trip as a family of 3" accompanied by an emoji shedding a tear. The couple is expecting their second child, a son.
In the photos, the family of three seems to be taking in a beach vacation, walking along the water and enjoying their time with their daughter.
The high school sweethearts married in March and later announced their pregnancy in May. They released their gender reveal video a few months later, revealing that they were expecting a baby boy.
Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had a dominant win on Sunday afternoon, defeating the San Francisco 49ers on the road at Levi's Stadium, 44-23.
Stephen A. Smith believes Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen are tied for MVP race
The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-2 on the season. The Chiefs lost to the Indianapolis Colts, which nobody saw coming, and the Buffalo Bills. This matchup goes back and forth every time the teams meet.
The Chiefs have had dominant wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. Although there have been some close games against AFC West rivals the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders, the quarterback looks as good, maybe better than he has in recent seasons.
On ESPN's "First Take" on Wednesday morning, Stephen A. Smith and company discussed who would be the frontrunner for the NFL MVP after the first seven weeks of the season. While Marcus Spears and Christopher "MadDog" Russo stated that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was the frontrunner, Stephen A. Smith went with Mahomes, although he said that there wasn't a clear frontrunner at this point.
"Is there a clear frontrunner? I think it's nip and tuck between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The numbers are equivalent between the two. When we look at Patrick Mahomes and see the absence of Tyreek Hill, when you look at the offense, there doesn't appear to be an absence because of how potent they can be."
He said that, while both quarterbacks are deserving, their stats are close as well. But he did praise the Chiefs quarterback for continuing to run an offense that no longer has wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Instead, he has found other offensive targets to continue to move the ball down the field.
