LeBron James questions media hypocrisy over coverage of Jerry Jones photo

LeBron James concluded his postgame pressconference by questioning the media. The NBA icon was visibly disheartened about not receiving any questions about the 1957 Jerry Jones desegregation photo. While the photo itself is very old, James still wanted to express his disappointment.

He connected the incident back to Kyrie Irving, who had the media demanding James for his opinion. James expected the same energy from the media here. The four-time NBA Champion went on a rant of his own:

"I got one question for you guys before you guys leave. I was thinking on my way over here I was wondering why I haven't gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo. But when the Kyrie [Irving] thing was going on, you guys were quick to ask those questions about that."

James continued:

"When I watched Kyrie talk and he says, 'I know who I am but I want to keep the same energy when we' re talking about my people and the things that we have been through'. That Jerry Jones photo is one of those moments that our people, Black people, have been through in America."
LeBron just called out the reporters for not asking him about the Jerry Jones segregation photo and told them to “keep the same energy” they had for Kyrie 😳 https://t.co/a7POasQrRz

Most fans were impressed with LeBron James' direct approach towards the matter, aware that his remarks would cause uproar. The Los Angeles Lakers star has rarely shied away from voicing his opinion, always on the front foot while defending his community and people.

@LakeShowYo This is why Lebron James is the greatest basketball player of all time
@LakeShowYo He ain’t bashing Jerry Jones. He’s calling out the media for applying mild severity on that topic opposed to how the media can gaslight a situation without any chance of vindication - the media can be the true judge amongst things like this

James, of course, went on to address the desegragation photo directly. He said he was disappointed not to be asked about it from his perspective as a black man and an athlete.

While Irving's anti-Semitic comments received significant media coverage and backlash, James apparently expected at least one question about Jones. After all, James is well known for supporting Jones' team, the Dallas Cowboys, as well as the Cleveland Browns:

"I know it was years and years ago and we all make mistakes I get it. But it seemed like it's been buried under. It happened. We just move on. I was disappointed I haven't received that question from you guys. Appreciate it."
LeBron James on why he’s not @dallascowboys fan anymore:

“Nah man I had to sit put on the Cowboys man. It just a things that were going on when guys were kneeling... [The] organization were like if do that around here you won’t play for this franchise again.”

Furthermore, LeBron James has previously quit as a Cowboys fan after they shared their controversial take on kneeling. For James, their opinion on this mattered, especially while everyone was coming together for one cause. As a result, James decided he had 'to sit put on the Cowboys'.
