LeBron James sounds off at Josh Allen being named 'NFL's most overrated QB': "Who cares"
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named the "Most Overrated Quarterback" in the NFL by his peers. He was awarded that title via an ESPN poll answered by 103 players in the league.
On Wednesday, NBA champion and recent Olympic gold medalist LeBron James came to Allen's defense.
“I GUARANTEE he’s at the top of the scouting report before playing Buffalo offensively! So who cares?” James wrote on IG (via MLFootball on X).
The four-time NBA champion and 20-time NBA All-Star knows how it feels to excel in a sport while being one of the most hated.
Bills QB Josh Allen responds to less than stellar accolades
Quarterback Josh Allen will embark on his seventh year in the NFL this season. It's safe to say he's developed a thick skin against his critics or even his peers in the NFL. Along with being named the 'most overrated,' he was also named the "Best Trash Talker" in the league.
After the ESPN poll results were released on Wednesday, Allen, who isn't one to post a lot on social media, took to X. He shared his thoughts in a caption that addressed the trash talker title with a comedic GIF.
"So you’re telling me, I was voted as the #1 … best trash talker??? Let’s goooooo!!!" Allen tweeted.
Allen is unphased by the poll results, which is good news for the Buffalo Bills and bad for the rest of the league. While he hasn't made a Super Bowl appearance yet, he has led his team to the playoffs in five of his six seasons in the league. He's also a dual threat as a passer and in the running game.
Allen has also become one of a few quarterbacks capable of going head-to-head against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
