“Let’s get on it” – When Patrick Mahomes, Justin Timberlake discussed a collab
Patrick Mahomes and Justin Timberlake were all in for a dream collaboration. Known for two completely different topics, both Mahomes and Timberlake are linked via one common interest: golf.
Though they might not catch up every day, they have often played golf events together. One such event was the American Century Championship, which is a regular event for the Kansas City Chiefs' star QB.
Along with Travis Kelce, Mahomes and Timberlake spoke to the media about their 2021 ACC contest and their future plans. During the interview (right before the 18-hole), Mahomes asked Timberlake for a feature in his album.
"Trek it off 18 imma go take a nap," Timberlake started, "I'm 40 now so naps are like a thing. And then after that I'll finish of my record. [It's] about 80 percent done".
Patrick Mahomes interrupted:
"Can I get a feature?"
Timberlake, without hesitation, replied, "Let's go."
"Let's get on it then," Mahomes added.
However, as of 2023, Mahomes and Timberlake haven't dropped any collaborations yet.
That being said, Timberlake also helped Kelce and Mahomes out with some valuable advice.
“Keep your head down,” Timberlake said.
Mahomes chimed in with:
“The thing I’ve always learned from Justin is to swing as hard as you can and hope it works out.”
Patrick Mahomes and Kelce won Timberlake's 2022 Invitational
Along with their Super Bowl win, Mahomes and Kelce also brought home Justin Timberlake's inaugural "8 AM Golf Invitational." Always the front runners at golf events, the Chiefs duo were among the many celebrities who played.
Michael Phelps, Jimmy Fallon, Kathryn Newton, Chase Crawford, Mel Reid and Michelle Wie West were among a few other celebrities who played. Mahomes and Kelce won against Newton and Crawford, shooting 18-under pars to lift the trophy.
The trophies were engraved with the words "8 AM Invitational Champion." The event also hosted a celebrity poker tournament after round one, raising around $600,000 for the American Skin Association.
Apart from the Invitation, Mahomes has also participated in The Match. Mahomes, who played alongside Josh Allen, lost to Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The iconic Rodgers-Brady duo finished off with a 15-foot putt on hole 12 to secure the win.
Mahomes and Allen tried their best throughout, even leading by one stroke from hole eight to nine. Brady and Rodgers made an eventual comeback to bag the victory.
