Malik Nabers deletes tweet aimed at Cowboys star Trevon Diggs as beef simmers between NFC East rivals
Malik Nabers and Trevon Diggs have started taking jabs at each other long before the season even begins. Amidst the ongoing banter, Nabers reportedly deleted a post on X taking a shot at Diggs.
Nabers started the proceedings during a recent interview with the Bleacher Report:
“Who is one DB that you can’t wait to match up against?” Malik Nabers was asked.
“Trevon Diggs,” replied the wide receiver.
Soon after seeing the video, Trevon Diggs took to X (previously Twitter) to share his thoughts. The CB wrote:
“Giants been getting belt for some years now.”
Diggs didn’t stop there as he replied to an edited version of Nabers’ answer with an emoji of a ninja.
A few minutes later Nabers replied to the same hype-video of Diggs with an emoji of a coffin.
Malik Nabers then followed up his assault with a now-deleted tweet containing lyrics of the song ‘Boot Up’ from YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
“P*ssy want to Insta’ beef, he Tweetin’ and I see all of that”
The cross-posting has died down for several hours now. It remains to be seen if the two will keep on taking shots at each other on X or any other medium before facing each other on the gridiron.
Nabers was drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft while the Dallas Cowboys picked up Diggs in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The battle for on-field supremacy between the NFC East rivals has been undertaken by the rookie versus the experienced.
When will Malik Nabers and Trevon Diggs play against each other?
The NFC East rivals will take the gridiron against each other twice this season. Firstly, in Week 4 on September 26 at the Giants’ MetLife Stadium and then in Week 13 on November 28 at the Cowboys’ home AT&T Stadium.
As Trevon Diggs pointed out, the Cowboys have established a significant lead over the Giants in recent years. In the last five years, both teams have faced off 10 times, with the Cowboys winning on 9 occasions while the Giants only once. Malik Nabers will need to back up his words come game time.
