Malik Nabers' mom sends extremely blunt message after Giants WR's viral Week 12 venting session
Malik Nabers personified the frustration every Giants fan was feeling after Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season but his outspokenness invited some critics. However, he had his mother, Tonya, in his corner and she was not backing down from supporting her son.
To recap, earlier in the week, the Giants benched and then released quarterback Daniel Jones, whom they had given a $160-million contract. This was followed by a horrific 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers at home. Malik Nabers could not hide his frustration and unloaded after the defeat.
He called the team soft, said he was tired of losing, and instructed the reporters to check with head coach Brian Daboll why he was not targeted in the first half. While it might have looked like he was throwing his colleagues and coaches under the bus, the wide receiver's mother came to his defense. She posted on X,

Giants' night gets worse after Malik Nabers' outburst
Some Giants fans might be frustrated by their wide receiver's conduct but Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season must be up there with one of the worst in franchise history. Not only did they lose and have to release a quarterback whom they invested in, but the players they released came up clutch and had outstanding games.
Xavier McKinney featured for the Packers in their victory over the 49ers and had a critical interception in the game. He now has seven for the year, tied with Kerby Joseph of the Detroit Lions. The former Giants defender is having a career year and will be in the conversation for the Defensive Player of the Year.
On the offensive side of the ball, the decision to release Saquon Barkley is looking worse than ever. The running back had 255 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He averaged a ridiculous 9.8 yards per carry against the Rams. He accumulated more than 300 total yards from scrimmage. Forget about the Offensive Player of the Year, he has now forced his way into the MVP conversation.
Therefore, New York's problems go far beyond what Malik Nabers is saying. The wide receiver might have aired his grievances but the Giants should resist shooting the messenger. They are currently 2-9 in 2024 and the bottom team in the NFC East. The worst part is that it looks like they had the players who could turn it around but instead decided to let them go to other franchises, where they are now shining.
