Margate City Mayor Michael Collins apologizes to Jason and Kylie Kelce after viral argument with drunk fan

Jason and Kylie Kelce were having some alone time recently. They were about to enter a restaurant on the Jersey shore when a woman began screaming at them for a photo. Jason cut a calm figure during the uncomfortable event, while his wife, Kylie, wasn't having any of it.

According to Chris O'Connell, on Wednesday, the Mayor of the City of Margate, Mayor Collins, released an official apology to the couple and offered to redo their date night in South Jersey. Mayor Collins' statement read:

"On behalf of the City of Margate, I'd like to formally apologize to Jason and Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend. As a father with young children, I know as well as anyone the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer a redo date night with dinner on me."

What happened to Jason and Kylie Kelce?

According to the New York Post, Jason and Kylie Kelce were patiently seated in their car outside Steve & Cookies by the Sea in Margate City, waiting for a spot to open up. As they waited, a woman approached the car and began banging it to get their attention.

The Kelces politely declined to take a picture with the woman and her family, and that was when things escalated. The woman yelled at the famous couple, and Kylie also replied by yelling.

At this point, an unidentified man, reportedly with the Kelces, separated them. The woman said:

"You'll never be allowed in this town again."

Kylie retorted:

"I can smell the alcohol on your breath; you're embarrassing yourself!"

The situation was serious enough for the Mayor of Margate City to issue a public apology. While neither Jason nor Kylie Kelce has issued a response, expect one on an episode of the New Heights Podcast with Travis Kelce.

In the meantime, Jason Kelce is enjoying his retirement from the National Football League. The future Hall of Famer hung up his cleats at the end of the 2023 season after a postseason appearance with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce has since signed a deal to work with ESPN. He has spent quality time with his family and is participating in events without having training camp at the back of his mind. The Philadelphia icon has indeed earned his flowers.
