Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly makes feelings clear over national attention on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

A few months back Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly made headlines for criticizing Taylor Swift's excessive NFL coverage amid her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

In the latest episode of The Morning After podcast, Kelly Stafford opened up about her previous comments on Taylor Swift. Kelly explained how she got away with the feeling of jealousy. Talking about the same, the podcaster said:

“I feel like there is just this… cloud hanging over with this Taylor Swift thing. Now, I have never once said I didn’t like Taylor Swift — ever. But I will say I kind of got tired of the Chiefs’ coverage of it — actually the NFL’s coverage of this budding relationship last year. And, can she do anything about that? No, she can’t." (2:30)

“It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it was outshining the games. I think that’s what bothered me. I was a little jealous of the fact that they were getting all this attention, and all of a sudden, the football game was the sideshow. So yeah, maybe I let jealousy get the best of me," Kelly added.

In an episode of The Morning After podcast in May, Kelly Stafford called out Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, tired from their excessive on-screen coverage by the NFL.

“I don’t know if I want to see another four months of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce coverage,” Kelly had said.

Kelly Stafford faced massive backlash from fans, following her comments. However, it wasn't until recently that she decided to talk about it. While Kelly didn't directly speak about this topic previously, she praised Taylor Swift on multiple occasions, especially for her positive influence on the sport.

Kelly Stafford had a blast attending Taylor Swift's Eras Tour with kids last week. During The Morning After podcast, Kelly explained how she was expecting backlash from fans for attending Swift's concert amid her controversial comments. Talking about the same, she said:

“Going to the concert, I knew there was going to be ‘backlash’ … Why was I feeling that way? And it really was, I had some jealousy issues of the fact that she all of a sudden became the main show in NFL football or their relationship." (3:56)
"And I watch my husband work his ass off, and I watch all these guys who play for the league work their asses off, and all of a sudden, they’re like the sideshow. So that is where that kind of came from," Kelly added.

Moving forward in the podcast, Kelly Stafford discussed major events of her life from last week. In one segment, Kelly can be seen complaining about Vikings fans, following Rams' outstanding TNF win.
