Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly opens up about hiding back injury from Rams QB
While Matthew Stafford cannot hide his injuries, his wife Kelly hid hers from the LA Rams quarterback. Kelly Stafford injured her back recently and recalled her failed attempts to keep it from her husband.
On Wednesday's episode of "The Morning After" podcast, Kelly opened up about it.
"I can't tell Matthew that I hurt my back playing tennis because he'll just look like 'get out,'" Kelly said (15:16). "So you know I carry it for a while. I'm just kind of gingerly walking around and finally he's like 'what is wrong with you?' I'm like 'babe I didn't want to tell you what I think I threw my back.'
"And he just shook his head and called the doctors to see what we should do. They put me on steroids. They think it's like a disc situation but it will help my back feel supported. Thank God, because that really actually did help a lot. So now I understand why Matthew's firmness is really high up."
Kelly's comments came just over a week after she made headlines for her reaction to Stafford's Vikings trade rumors.
Kelly Stafford reacted in panic after Matthew Stafford's was linked with Vikings trade
On "The Morning After" podcast on Nov. 5, Kelly Stafford revealed her initial reaction to rumors of Matthew Stafford's trade to the Minnesota Vikings.
"I open up Instagram one day and I’m like, ‘Oh, do I need to start looking for a home in Minnesota?’" Kelly said (22:45). "Like, what’s happening? And that’s one thing you don’t want to text your husband. ‘Hey, have you heard you’re getting traded?’ He’s seeing it, too. It’s not like he’s not seeing these rumors.
"I’ve always told myself I will never separate our family. Because it’s not fair to anyone. It’s not fair to him to not be able to see his girls; it’s not fair to the girls to not see their dad. I would lose my mind without him."
The Rams beat the Vikings on Oct. 24 and Kelly Stafford watched it live with her kids. Following the game, Kelly raised a major complaint against Vikings fans.
