Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly opens up about her panic after QB's Vikings trade rumors
There have been rumors about LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford getting traded to the Minnesota Vikings. While there hasn't been any official confirmation from either team, Stafford's wife Kelly panicked about her husband's rumored departure from the Rams.
On Tuesday's episode of "The Morning After" podcast, Kelly Stafford opened up about her reaction to the trade rumors. She also talked about the negative impact it could have on their family.
"I open up Instagram one day and I’m like, ‘Oh, do I need to start looking for a home in Minnesota?’ Kelly said (22:45). "Like, what’s happening? And that’s one thing you don’t want to text your husband. ‘Hey, have you heard you’re getting traded?’ He’s seeing it, too. It’s not like he’s not seeing these rumors.
"I’ve always told myself I will never separate our family. Because it’s not fair to anyone. It’s not fair to him to not be able to see his girls; it’s not fair to the girls to not see their dad. I would lose my mind without him."
Kelly then discussed the possibility of the trade rumors turning true. She joked about how she could put her kids in a public school.
“I would pick up, go lease a spot for six months, put the kids in a public school for the rest of the fall, and come back in the winter," Kelly said (31:24).
Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly revealed reason why Vikings trade won't happen
While there are rumors that Matthew Stafford could potentially be traded by the Rams to the Vikings, his wife Kelly does not think it will happen.
"I do believe the fact that we won the last two games and are in the hunt now for our division is going to mean that we are not trading anyone away," Kelly said (23:22). "Because you know what? We could actually make a run now."
Kelly Stafford attended Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" last month with Matthew and their kids. On Friday's episode of the same podcast, Kelly shared how Matthew had a "dude to dude" conversation with Swift's dad, Scott.
