Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly recalls daughter Tyler's accident that 'pissed' her off
Matthew Stafford and his wife Kelly have four daughters: Chandler, Sawyer, Hunter and Tyler. On Thursday's episode of her "The Morning After" podcast, Kelly Stafford, who isn't one to hold back on her feelings, detailed an incident involving her children.
She said that her two older daughters were playing tug-of-war inside their home, which she advised them wasn't an indoor game. Kelly then said that Chandler fell and landed on her youngest daughter, Tyler. She immediately had a black eye but it was what she noticed when she tended to her that made her irate.
"What really threw me over the edge was Chandler and Sawyer were playing tug-of-war in the living room," Kelly said (27:44). "Dumb, I go. That's not an indoor game unless you're in a gym. Something happens.
"Chandler falls back steps on Tyler's eye. She had a shiner immediately. She's balling, crying. She comes upstairs, I'm like 'What happened?' 'Chandler stepped on me'. I said 'okay, obviously an accident.' We all know that. Now should they be doing that inside? No."
Kelly explained that she was annoyed that her other daughters didn't check on their sister after she got hurt. They just went back to what they were doing and left her alone.
"But still whatever my problem with it was that nobody checked on her," Kelly said. "Nobody cared. They just kept moving through what they were doing and that is what pissed me off. I was like 'You've got to take care of one another.' You know it was the whole like speech.
"'This is the longest relationship you're ever going to have. This is your little sister who looks up to you,' like all these things. I was like 'You know what guys I can't do this'. I'm doing my best here but y'all have also got to look out for one another.'"
She continued by saying that she told her four daughters that they need to always look out and take care of each other.
Matthew Stafford's wife and daughters short support for QB on gameday
Matthew Stafford and the LA Rams are trying their best to make the playoffs. The Rams are 7-6 and the first team on the bubble in the NFC playoff picture.
On Sunday, the LA Rams had a tough battle against one of the AFC's toughest teams, the Buffalo Bills. The Rams ended up victorious, winning 44-42 in a high-scoring matchup. Stafford had support from his cheering section: his wife Kelly and their four daughters.
Kelly Stafford shared a post on Instagram of the five of them attending the game at SoFi Stadium. While all four girls wore Matthew Stafford's #9 jersey number, Kelly opted for an offensive line T-shirt, honoring the five players who protect her husband each week.
“Santa has been drinking!” Kelly captioned.
Matthew and the Rams have a short week as they will be back in action on Thursday when they face the San Francisco 49ers on the road.
