Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly shares heartfelt message for NFL community after Rams WR Xavier Smith's first play
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, is impressed with Xavier Smith's first NFL play. Kelly also extended praise to the NFL community and the game of football itself.
Smith, who played his first-ever NFL game in Week 3, delivered a huge play to help the Rams to a 27-24 win against the San Francisco 49ers. With 1:02 seconds left on the clock, the Rams defense forced the 49ers to punt.
The young WR, who went to receive his first career punt, fielded it at their 12-yard line. Fans and the Rams players celebrated Smith's play, turning into a celebration as the team cemented their victory.
Kelly Stafford, sharing the same on Instagram, noted how much she loves the game.
"This is a reason to love this game. Dreams happening with the men who are like family as your biggest cheerleaders. Spoke about this moment with Matthew and it's just so dang heartwarming," Kelly wrote.
Kelly's response was to various reactions by players and the Rams coaches right after the play.
In another story, Kelly Stafford even praised her husband's leadership.
"Always been an incredible leader...by example, always encouraging his teammates and throws himself on the sword without question. You should see him lead our home team," Kelly added.
Active on social media and hosting her podcast, Kelly is known to speak her mind, be it negative comments or something heartwarming.
Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly's words once impacted the Rams QB's locker room
As mentioned, Kelly Stafford is known for her candid words on various issues in the NFL and otherwise. Fans are used to her statements, some even related to the Rams and her husband's game.
However, not every word has impacted the Rams and Matthew Stafford positively.
While speaking to E! News, Kelly spoke about how Stafford has only once objected to her podcast: "The Morning After."
Giving Kelly some feedback, Matthew asked her to talk about anything but what could affect his locker room.
"I felt horrible that entire month about that. But otherwise, he's really supportive," Kelly said.
Busy with her off-field events and activities, Kelly is present at most of the Rams games to cheer on Matthew Stafford.
The Rams will take on the Chicago Bears on September 29th after their Week 3 win against the 49ers.
