McCaffrey, Purdy and Kittle: Sublime 49ers trio burns Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers have done a number on the Seattle Seahawks, thanks largely, in part, to quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle. The trio was sensational throughout the game as the Seahawks seemed to have little to no idea how to stop them.

Purdy started completing 10/10 of his passes and scored a touchdown -- with a brilliant pass to Kittle -- before his first incompletion. That touchdown was a thing of beauty as he bamboozled the Seahawks defense and found Kittle for the score.

Then, with the half winding down, McCaffrey got in on the act to put the 49ers up by two scores. After a fumble by Seattle, the 49ers and Purdy took the ball and marched the final few yards. The drive ended with McCaffrey rushing for a touchdown.

Purdy and McCaffrey seem to be the chief destroyers of the Seahawks, along with that mean 49ers defense.

San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks: What happened in the second half?

The second half started in the same way as Purdy hit Kittle for a huge gain that gave the 49ers a 21-3 lead as the rookie quarterback hit his second touchdown pass to Kittle with both sensational throws. Purdy finished the game with 17/26 for 217 yards and two touchdowns, and Kittle (four rec, 93 yards and two touchdowns) joined the party.

Purdy kept on playing superb football in the third quarter as he hit Ray-Ray McCloud on a third-and-15 that was converted as the 49ers quarterback continued his impressive game.

The rookie quarterback continued to make plays in big spots for the 49ers. He faced a third-and-seven inside his own five yard line and coverted it to keep the drive alive.

McCaffrey was still doing his thing as he had over 70 yards rushing to go along with 30 receiving yards halfway through the last quarter.

McCaffrey continued his good form, as he surpassed the 100-yard mark for just the fourth time this season. He finished with 108 yards on 26 carries as the 49ers grounded out the clock.

For Purdy, the rookie again showed that he can lead this team to good things, finishing completing 17 of his 26 passes for 217 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Many thought the 49ers were in trouble when Jimmy Garoppolo went down with his injury, but in Purdy and McCaffrey, San Francisco are one of the favorites for the Super Bowl as they clinched the NFC West division, winning 21-13.
