Micah Parsons' brother struggling to understand why Cowboys are 'sitting on cash' with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb contracts pending
Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have less than a year on their contracts. Micah Parsons will soon be looking for an extension as well. Amidst this, a report stating the amount of money spent by the Cowboys over the last decade has Micah’s brother Terrence Parsons riled up.
Last week, ESPN analyst Marcus Spears said the Dallas Cowboys have been stingy in expenditure for some time. A user on X (previously Twitter) compiled the data from Spears and posted the Cowboys’ spending rank amongst 32 franchises.
“The Dallas Cowboys ranked 25th in cash spent from 2013-2016, 32nd from 2016-2019, and 30th from 2021-2023,” the user tweeted.
Micah Parsons’ brother did not waste much time as he attacked the Cowboys' front office.
“So, you can’t ask our best player to take less money when we just gonna sit on the money anyway make it make sense pay them what they worth if all we gonna do is depend on them to do everything,” h tweeted.
Prescott hasn’t been tied to a new deal, while Lamb is holding out. The wide receiver has said he will not join the training sessions until he gets a new contract.
Dak Prescott is heading toward free agency
Dak Prescott was ranked second in the NFL Most Valuable Player voting last season. Despite his poor playoff record (2-5), the shot caller will be in demand in an open market. NFL insider Ian Rapoport suggested that’s where he will be on ‘The Rich Eisen Show.’
"I think a deal is there to be done," he said. "I just don't know if it's actually going to be done before they start the season. Then you know once he starts the season, then it's sort of like, ‘Yeah, well that’. Probably if he doesn't have a deal by the season, I think he's (Dak Prescott) probably a free agent next year.”
The Cowboys' leadership of Jerry Jones and his son has been called out from all the corners of the NFL. However, no progress has been achieved in nailing down their star players.
